From your vacation home you can walk to the Santa Catalina interchange, from which you can go to any part of the island by bus.

Environment of the holiday home

The unburied treasure of the island's capital is Playa de Las Canteras. It is the pearl that the city does not hide. A long strip of sand, several kilometers long, that stretches across the bay. A place with a special charm that you can find 34 blocks from the cruise terminal.

The residents of the city repeat that Las Canteras is one of the best urban beaches in the country. And they have reason to think so. Because it is a beach with good weather almost all year round. The place in the capital to escape, where all the clocks stop. A kind of Central Park beach version, where you can play sports any day of the week, wearing a swimsuit, bikinisurfboard.

In addition, it is a great reserve of marine life. Its sea beds are a refuge for a thousand types of fish. On land, the refuge for walkers, fishermen, surfers and surfers. And it has a special feature. That peculiarity is what the locals call "La Barra", a long rock formation that spreads out not far from the sand and protects a large part of the beach from the tides. A curious line of stone that makes the bay the best place on this side of the globe for swimming and allows bathers to walk on the water on low tide days.

And if you're going to walk, we recommend the long walk that meanders continuously to the sand, avoiding cafes and ice cream parlors. At the beginning of the promenade you will find the terraces of La Puntilla and the fresh fish restaurants. At the other end of the beach, the surfer atmosphere around the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, with more terraces and cafes facing the sea.

Although we must warn you, if you are planning to stay in the city for several days, forget about finding the beach on Wednesday that you saw on Monday.

That's impossible! Because Las Canteras is the Changing Beach. It will never be the same place as the day before. It will be completely different. And that is another of its peculiarities. It always stays in the same place, but it always shows itself differently.

The accommodation has a separate bedroom and a cosy living room with a modern integrated kitchen fully equipped with ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, freezer, washing machine, crockery/cutlery, kitchen utensils, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and juicer.

The house is only 400 m from our emblematic "Parque de Santa Catalina" and 450 m from the bus station "Intercambiador Santa Catalina", where you can take any bus line to explore the island. There are several supermarkets nearby: 700 m from the supermarket "Hiperdino".

In terms of leisure activities, 3 km from the golf course "Las Palmeras Golf", we can visit beautiful villages such as "Arucas" which is 14 km away, 22 km from the city "Teror", 25 km from the airport "Gran Canaria Airport", 57 km from the amusement park "Holidayworld Maspalomas", 58 km from the water park "Aqualand", 62 km from the sandy beach "Playa del Inglés" and it is located in an ideal area for families and in the city centre.

The flat is located next to one of the most emblematic parks of the city: Santa Catalina Park, an example of street life. It is home to the Science Museum and the Miller Building, which hosts cultural activities. Santa Catalina Park is also the nerve centre of the Carnival events and the Theatre and Dance Festival held in the summer months.
In addition, less than 100 metres away, the Parque Marítimo del muelle de Santa Catalina is an authentic viewpoint to enjoy the stay of the large tourist cruise ships in the Port of Las Palmas; a solarium or water front, which is suspended above the sea, divided into two levels with a grandstand and a ramp that connects them, in a space of 1,262 square metres. A glass railing on the sea side, as well as a fountain on the ground at the top of the esplanade, have turned this facility into a pleasant meeting place to enjoy the port landscape.
Next to the Maritime Park is La Marquesina, a facility that recalls the first passenger station that the Port of La Luz had at the beginning of the 20th century.
